Fall Table Reveal: Blue Magnolia
Sometimes getting started is the hardest part, so my designs are meant to inspire you and point you in the right direction. Getting to share them and hopefully inspire you to DECK your own table is...well a dream come true! To show you how easy it is to take one of my designs and use it to DECK your table I decided to bring to life our Blue Magnolia Fall Table and walk you through the process - including step by step instructions on how to recreate this fabulous centerpiece. From the Design...to the Table!
Blue isn't usually the first color that comes to mind when thinking of Fall, but this slate blue is simply magical. And complements rusts and oranges very well too making it an easy color to incorporate with what you most likely already have. When researching I stumbled upon this photo.
The mix of magnolia flowers and pumpkins appealed to me, and I realized I've never used Magnolias before. Hydrangeas are usually my go-to, but I thought it would be fun to try something new. This blue and cream combo is so classic you can skip the pumpkins and use these pieces all year long.
For the table I decided to use this blue floral tablecloth. You may recognize this tablecloth from my 4th of July table. Its vintage look won me over and I knew then I just had to use it for Fall too. Isn't it great when pieces you love can carry into the next season too?
For the centerpiece I decided to use this oversized dough bowl that was featured in our Valentines Box. Dough Bowls are great to have as you can dress them up or down. This one we decided to showcase our theme - Blue/Grey Velvet Pumpkins & Magnolias. Find my fool-proof 5-Step formula you can use every season to give your dough bowl a new and fabulous look HERE!
The mix of magnolias and pumpkins come to life with blueberry stems, pinecones, and a few greenery stems. My twin girls found all of our pinecones in the neighborhood and were exceptionally proud to see them on display so beautifully here. For the base I used a mix of green garland and fall stems. I wanted to capture the colors of the changing leaves in Fall. As an added bonus, I placed two flameless taper candles inside as well. When it comes to place settings it's all about the layers. I started with a woven charger to bring in more of the natural tones. With Thanksgiving in mind, I pulled out my favorite plates for special occasions and layered them with these adorable appetizer plates from Pottery Barn. I love to invest in fun salad or appetizer plates because they are a simple way to dress up your everyday dishes.
To pull in the blue tones I chose slate blue napkins and wine glasses. The jute napkin holders bring in more of those beautiful natural tones. The white pumpkin mugs, perfect for apple cider or pumpkin spice punch, add a little Fall flair. I went with gold flatware to coordinate with the gold trim of the appetizer plates. My favorite teacher always said, "Presentation is everything." So, I tied a piece of jute ribbon into a bow around the flatware with some extra sprigs of blueberries to bring the whole look together.
Oh and I can't forget about Chomper and Gus Gus! Flanking each side of our centerpiece are my new squirrel friends. Aren't they adorable? This last-minute addition adds a whimsical touch and really breathes life into this table. From the design to the table, our Blue Magnolia Fall look is bright, warm, and inviting. Love when a table invites you to sit at it and this one most definitely does.
